Area IV Agency Providers for the Aging Department

The following Providers are funded by Area IV Agency. They provide services under the Aging Department’s oversight. Most of these services are for clients within the eight-county region covered by Area IV Agency.

Program Listing

Long-Term Care Ombudsman

This service is located at the Legal Services office in downtown Lafayette and covers the entire Area IV region.

Legal services a funded for low-income older adults.

Senior Centers

These are located in all the counties in Area IV and are independent agencies that provide meal sites, transportation, activities, and other services depending on the site.

Our agency funds numerous providers of this service. Each county has its own unique array of such services.

In-Home Service Providers

We fund a variety of types on in-home services, including homemaking, nursing, respite, and attendant care services for people needing help to live independently.

This agency is funded by Area IV Agency to provide both home-delivered and congregate meals in our region.

These businesses construct wheelchair ramps, accessible bathrooms, and other home modification for disabled clients.

Sunshine and Smiles
Sunshine & Smiles is an intergenerational play group. The group, facilitated by a volunteer, allows parents and their typically pre-school age children and nursing home residents to connect and interact. The group meets once a month and benefits all involved. As one resident at Rosewalk Village said, “This is the best day I’ve ever had.” These visits are especially meaningful to those residents whose family members are not able to visit very often. Children who don’t live near their grandparents or great-grandparents also benefit by getting to spend time with an older generation.

- If you don’t take care of yourself, you won’t be able to continue to be a caregiver. See your doctor regularly, get screened for stress and depression, get plenty of rest, eat balanced meals, exercise regularly and accept help from others. You are important.
