Nursing Home Ombudsmen

Ombudsmen give assistance with resolving problems between nursing home residents, administration, staff members and families.

Nutrition Services

Hot nutritious meals are served in senior centers and congregate meal sites where those participating also have the opportunity to access other services. A home-delivered meal program, which includes physician-prescribed, modified-diet meals is available area wide for homebound persons.

Senior Centers

Senior Centers, located in each county, are the building blocks upon which other services to the elderly begin. As the focal point for services, they provide a congregate meeting place for meals, recreation, health screenings and testing and educational programs.

Respite Care

Services are provided by trained staff to relieve family caregivers who are taking care of an impaired, ill or recovering elderly person or other disabled individual.

Transportation

Special vehicles designed to assist elderly and handicapped persons with their transportation needs are available area-wide. Medical and health-related appointments are the first priority of the service. This transportation program takes place through Senior Centers.
