How Can We Help?

Area IV Agency on Aging and Community Action Programs, Inc. is committed to providing services to our communities’ most vulnerable individuals.  We offer services that will address individual needs and create equal opportunities for those we serve.

Community Involvement

We work with our communities to provide affordable housing opportunities, and we provide program funding to community organizations that provide valuable services which address education, childcare, housing and job training.

Helping Those in Need

We offer a variety of services to low-income individuals that need a hand-up. These services range from utility payment assistance, money management, HUD vouchers, small business loans, and a savings match program.

Assisting the Elderly and Disabled

Area IV Agency is proud to coordinate and monitor state and/or federally funded services for the elderly and disabled in the community setting of their choice. Our information and referral specialists are available to answer questions about services, provide needed resources, and counsel individuals about Medicare plans.

What We Do?

Below is a list of our current services for the community.

Aged and Disabled

Area IV Agency utilizes state and federal funding to provide services in the community setting. These services allow for an individual to remain in the community of their choice and help prevent institutional placement, such as a nursing facility.

Health & Wellness

Area IV Agency provides fitness classes for adults to remain happy and healthy in the community. We provide classes to adults at all levels of fitness, so join today!

Nutrition

Area IV Agency provides several different nutrition programs to meet the needs of seniors in our communities. Eligible participants are ages 60+ and can either drive to nutrition sites or receive home-delivered meals if they are not able to leave their home.

Early Childhood Education

Area IV Agency’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) programs focus on “learning through play” by providing a hands-on, interactive atmosphere where children learn about themselves through playing with other children. Learn by play.

Housing

Area IV Agency has affordable housing projects for low-to-moderate income persons, older adults (age 55+), disabled persons, homeless persons and those with special needs residing in mid-northwestern Indiana.

Self Sufficiency

Area IV Agency operates a number of programs for low-income individuals to become more self-sufficient. These programs include small business loans for those who cannot secure traditional bank loans, a state-matched savings program, and life skills coaching.

Weatherization

Area IV Agency performs weatherization services on the residences of eligible clients with goal to address safety issues associated with household appliances (stoves, water heaters, and furnaces) and to improve the energy efficiency of homes.

Energy Assistance

The Energy Assistance Program provides financial assistance to low-income households to maintain utility services during the winter heating season. Area IV Agency provides assistance from early November to mid-May each year.

Money Management

Area IV Agency’s Organizational Payee Program assists individuals with developing a monthly spending plan for their Social Security benefits to create a stable living environment and ensure that the basic needs are met.

Transportation

Area IV Agency transportation services provide demand response, curb-to-curb, and advance reservation transportation within Benton and Non-Urbanized Tippecanoe Counties. Door-to-door service is also available upon request for those needing reasonable assistance beyond the curb.
